v1.50: Computer Use — AI-Driven Browser Automation
What's New
Computer Use: Fabric can now control a real browser to interact with websites on your behalf. The AI can open pages, click buttons, fill forms, take screenshots, and execute scripts. A docked browser panel shows what's happening in real-time, with device frames and zoom controls. Screenshots appear directly in the chat and are saved to your conversation history.
macOS Screenshot Permissions: When Fabric needs screen recording access, it now detects missing permissions and shows direct links to the right System Settings panel.
Longer Task Timeouts: Removed the 10-minute limit on tasks. Fabric can now handle long-running work like machine learning training, large builds, or video processing without timing out.
Bug Fixes
Windows Shell Support: Fixed empty output from terminal commands on Windows. Fabric now uses PowerShell by default and refreshes your system PATH automatically, so newly installed tools are immediately available.
Screenshot Handling: Improved how screenshots are stored and sent to AI providers, reducing message size and preventing issues in long conversations with many images.
Response Visibility: Fixed AI responses getting hidden behind collapsed thinking sections when screenshots or other actions were involved.
